Vegas on Friday

I'm getting a bit sleepless at night in anticipation of the forthcoming adventure. My brother probably can't get out of work, so he won't be able to come down. Sucks. I'll show him Vegas this year sometime.

Lost at the Casino

It's only fair that if I post messages to say that I won some money at the casino, I should also post messages to say when I lose.

A few buddies and I went on Friday night, and the blackjack tables were ice cold. I lost maybe $50 in 20 minutes. Sucks.

I then went over to my good friend, the craps table. A few good wins, and I was almost at even money on the day, then the dice turned cold. I was rolling with my last $15 dollars when a high-roller came on the table. They increased the table limit for him, and he plunked down several hundred dollars. It was all on me to make this guy some money...

I rolled maybe four or five times and then sevened out, losing the high roller several hundred dollars. Easy come, easy go.

Prince, Triple Threat

I bought a new squash racket on the weekend.

Bloody Mess

Shanin raises her voice from downstairs to say that there's blood all over the floor. I'm thinking, oh great, the cats got into a fight and there's a furry little kitty head laying on a shoe.

Fortunately, it's not that bad, but there are hundreds of little red spots all over the floor, perfectly spaced. The linoleum, carpet, comforters, window sill, unfinished wood storage box, you name it, it has a red spot.

Not only was it my cat's foot that was bleeding, I was the one who made her bleed! I had trimmed the long hairs that grow out of her paws, and I took a layer of skin off one of her pads.

I was drunk on Jag, and almost ready to go to the bar. I had to get the first aid kit, and Shanin tried to bandage up a kitty paw. Two things you should know about cats: they don't like to be forcefully held, and they don't like having anything on their body.

The first attempt failed, but Shanin's skills of using copious amounts of gauze paid off when her entire leg was gauzed. The cat did not appreciate the new appendage.

I took off to the bar to drown my kitty sorrows, when I get a call to say the cat had removed the bandage. Grr. At this point, the letting had subsided and she calmed down. Damn scissors!

Broke Two Rackets

I broke my two squash rackets, within a few days of eachother. I now have a good opportunity to get a really good one. Sucks, but it's fun.

Trev's Housewarming

The three siblings went to Edmonton to properly warm Trev's house. I, naturally, had a few too many shots of Jag. Not only did I not get sick, I played a game of squash the next morning.

I took the opportunity (after a defeat in the squash match) to go to the West Edmonton mall and try my hand at lady luck. I played blackjack for just over 2 hours, and I played each hand nearly perfectly. I doubled a $100 investment. Craps was next, and I took $50 to $130. I was up about $175 on the day. I only really went to practice with real money, and with real people.
